What print adverts were used to advertise the game?

2. What key conventions of print adverts can you find on the example you have chosen? Product name? Font? Slogan? Central image? Color?

All three advertisement share the same red colored theme as the ad is based around the star player "Lebron James". He plays for the heat so the color-scheme is red to represent the heat and further emphasize him and his team. In the 2nd picture he has his hands up in glory with white confetti flying out with "NBA2K14" logo in the midst of it in an attempt to praise the game. The central image of the star player is relatively big. Lebron's nickname of "king james" is used with the logo on the crown above it all colored in gold to represent his majesty and royalty in the basketball world.

3. Find three reviews for your game that were originally published in videogame magazines. Are they positive or negative about the game?

I'm utterly shocked anyone is giving this even mixed ratings! I've seen better games graphically than this since 2006! It looks like rubbish for the most part. The learning curve on this is disgusting! And by that I mean that this game should be accessible to people who know nothing of NBA basket ball. And even for someone like me who knows the basics this is shockingly bad. My opposing player switches almost at random and sometimes seems to do so as they dunk so my rating is poorly affected. If I'd not purchased this game digitally on a youtubers recommendation I'd be returning it for a refund.
This review is extremely hostile and highlights no good aspects of the game whilst constantly refuting it in an exaggerated manner. The person goes as far as to say that he/she will be returning it for a refund.

Sure, the new game mode is a little disappointing, and existing modes could have done with at least a small update, but these are itminor complaints in what is easily the finest basketball gameplay seen to date – and arguably one of the greatest sporting simulations of all time.

This review is a lot more positive and highlights the good features of the game. the person says it could be one of the greatest sporting games of all time and when they talk about the short-comings of the game, they are very subtle and understanding rather than exaggerating it.

I play the game for the online play for the most part, and to represent my home town team. I thought lebron with his advertisements would have led this series into a new direction but it seems that all the players skins are all the same and only a few things have been changed. The shooting system is questionable and layups are almost unstoppable at some times. I still enjoy the game and I'm glad I redboxed it lol if things don't get changed.

This is a lot more equal on the positive and negative aspect as the person is neither loves the game or hates it. The person highlights the good factors of the game and does the same for the bad and comes out with a leveled opinion only slightly leaning more toward a positive attitude toward the game

D: How will you stimulate audience desire to buy the game?

The competitive nature shared between the British middle-aged women helps fuel the motivation to beat their peers in competition. A popular phenomenon between these women is their weight and figure thus, a yoga game to help achieve their bodily aspirations would be extremely popular among these groups

A: How does it promote audience Action?

"Word of mouth" is essential in promoting the game and talkative, gossiping middle aged women are the perfect group to spread the word of the new yoga game. Middle aged women are interested with the latest technology and what's new, so they will use any possible means of communication to unintentionally promote the new yoga game

Independant Case Study Research:

The poster has a nice colour scheme, good font size and is very easy to understand. Interestingly, the central image is actually not on the middle slightly to the top right which is the natural centre of the page which the human eye sees rather it is on the oppistite side, this could suggest that the words "get on board" along with the rest of the words are more important than the image as it occupies the most important part of the page.
Review 1:
FIFA 14 is far from a revolutionary release, and it's arguably inferior to the much improved PES 2014 in terms of pure footballing gameplay. That said, FIFA 14 is the most complete virtual footballing experience available today. Whether in single or multiplayer, there's enough to keep fans busy well into the new football season and beyond.
This review is half positive, half negative, quite critical but does recognize that Fifa 14 is the best virtual game out there.
Review 2:
FIFA 14 rocks!!!!! Its the best football game till date. Much more realistic features, improved gameplay than FIFA 13.Awesome game play much slower, which makes it more realistic. Some genuine improvements, particularly in terms of animation, physics, artificial intelligence, and Ultimate Team. Top notch presentation and the usual full suite of licences. Go for it guys.. Worth Buying the game.
This review is extremely positive and doesn't have a single flaw about the game mentioned, the writer also states that it is "top notch" implying it can't get any better, they even suggest buying the game yourself.
Review 3:
The worst Fifa of all time. Players move with the agility of a bus. 70% of the crosses are goals. Players are slow, they can't change pace or direction without losing the ball. EA has done a great job of undoing all the good things they have done for the series in the past 5 years. Please fix this as soon as possible EA.
This review is by far the harshest out of the three, the writer does not point out one good feature of the game but instead says it is "the worst fifa of all time" and highlights their personal disliked features pertaining to the game.

this gameplay trailer of fifa 14 is extremely effective in drawing in fans and prompting the game to the target audience because it gives the viewers a taste of what they will recieve if they purchase in the this game. It also helps the audience see any new differences compared to the previous game in the Fifa series such as; players, teams, and graphics.

E-media:

The official website on which it's promoted shows official trailers, talks about the games features and shows pictures of the gameplay and the cover itself.
The official page is white and makes the pictures quite big and fades them into the background, this can give the effect of an amazing game because white usually represents good and the pictures fading in could represent the game in a virtual paradise.
The game itself as Fifa 14 doesn't have its own channel on Youtube however it is promoted by the larger company of EA sports along with other games.
The gameplay from the user-generated audience is extremely beneficial in giving the target audience a clear picture of what the game would be like had they played it themselves, instead of buying the game themselves and possibly wasting their money, they watch and see what they like and if they don't like it then they leave it.
The game Fifa has almost 200 thousand likes on facebook.

They promote the game by using alot of pictures and updates to keep the audience up to date with what is going on whilst giving tasters to the fans to keep them interested.
